Anthony J. Madonia, Estate Planning Lawyer and so much more…

Anthony J Madonia proudly serves his clients as an Attorney and Certified Public Accountant. As the principal in his Chicagoland firm, Anthony J. Madonia & Associates, he focuses on the areas of Estate Planning and Administration, Business Strategy and Planning, Corporate Law, and Taxation. Consequently, he is often referred to as an estate planning lawyer but is really so much more. 2025 marks the thirtieth year of business for Anthony J. Madonia & Associates, under Madonia’s leadership the firm has provided exceptional service to hundreds of clients.

Chicago Estate Planning Services You Can Trust

Madonia, who goes by “Tony,” founded Anthony J. Madonia & Associates, Ltd. with a vision of creating a thoughtful service-oriented, hands-on practice where clients receive comprehensive support and expedient attention. The ability to address legal issues and be mindful of the related tax issues has set us a[art from many other law firms.

Earlier in his career as a tax accountant, Tony recognized the value of being able to serve our clients across multiple platforms. To add to his accounting expertise, he pursued his Juris Doctorate. He wanted to provide a more comprehensive lens to supporting client’s needs. He decided to create a firm that allows us to help clients navigate through complex situations in their life and for their future.

Since 1995, the firm has been built on trusted relationships, exceptional service and a deep commitment to helping clients achieve their goals. Tony Madonia is known as a valuable business and tax resource. He helps privately held firms and the families and individuals they support to preserve wealth. His firm, AJM&A, Ltd., provides customized assistance on legal and tax matters to businesses and individuals across the Chicagoland area and beyond. As noted earlier, he is much more than an estate planning lawyer.

Lawyer with Drive to Help Clients-Anthony J. Madonia

Mr. Madonia thrives on legal and tax challenges-the kind of complex problems that require understanding from multiple viewpoints. He enjoys identifying the strategies and developing the plans that minimize tax exposure and maximize family wealth. Mr. Madonia is highly respected for his knowledge and insightful perspectives on the complexities that affect privately held businesses. His direct involvement with clients keeps him in touch with today’s business environment and the evolving needs of business owners.

In an effort to better serve his clients outside the Chicagoland area, Madonia applied for admittance to the Arkansas and Kansas Bar Associations. He is now a licensed attorney in three states. As a firm, we are licensed to practice law in Illinois, Kansas, and Arkansas.

Prior to founding the firm in 1995, Anthony J Madonia worked for Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. as a senior tax accountant and manager, and at a boutique law firm, where he was a partner.

After serving many years as a board member of the Donald and Lorena Meier Foundation, Anthony Madonia is now President of the Board of Directors. The Donald and Lorena Meier Foundation supports a variety of community initiatives including natural resources, student scholarship and higher education pathways.  The Foundation has a history of giving at Don Meier’s alma mater to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln including funding four endowed student scholarships and 14 existing scholarship programs. In 2023, the Donald & Lorena Meier Greenhouse and Native Plants Restoration Program was made possible by the Donald and Lorena Meier Foundation. Madonia’s first announcement as president, in July 2025, was the $1.1 million investment from the Donald and Lorena Meier Foundation to renovate the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus radio station 90.3 KRNU. The foundation’s support will transform the station and allow the college to create a cross-platform media environment where students can tell stories through audio, video and digital formats.

Under Madonia’s leadership, the Board of Directors will continue the mission set in 1971 to support the funding of organizations and programs that focus on education, animal and wildlife preservation, conservation, and other charitable initiatives that seek to make a positive impact.

In another move to support an organization he is dedicated to, Madonia moved from serving as Treasurer of the Safer Foundation Board of Directors to Chairman of the Board for the Safer Foundation. Madonia has long pledged to help this unique organization offer second chances to people with criminal records. The Safer Foundation provides comprehensive re-entry assistance in Chicagoland and the Quad Cities, as well as advocating for generations to come through the Safer Policy Institute.

Madonia also serves on the board of the Loving Leo Joseph Foundation and Le Ballet Petit.
