Honoring Leo Joseph Madonia by Hospital Gift

In this season of giving, the Loving Leo Foundation was thrilled to donate a Cuddle Cot to Edward Hospital. Made to honor the memory of Leo Joseph Madonia who died on January 22, 2022. This allows us to know Leo is making a big impact in so many ways. The Edward Hospital share program means so much to us that we couldn’t imagine a better place for a cuddle cot to be donated. The Foundation thanks Sue Villa at Edward Hospital for everything she does for the families of Edward Hospital. This cuddle cot will bring the gift of time for so many families and knowing the memory of Leo will always be there helping families during the worst time imaginable.

When the Madonia family lost Leo, they were devastated. Luckily, the hospital he was delivered at had a machine called a Cuddle Cot. This machine was able to give the Madonia’s what they desperately needed, the gift of time. They were able to spend two days in the hospital with little Leo, taking pictures and making memories. The goal of the Loving Leo Foundation is to raise money to buy these machines and donate them to hospitals that do not have them. Outside of these machines, we also have a great group of people who are making hats, blankets, and other items to donate on Leo’s behalf.  Anthony J. Madonia is the grandfather to Leo Joseph Madonia and an active member of the Loving Leo Foundation although he does not make blankets.

The CuddleCot provides grieving families the opportunity to spend time with their loved ones without needing to cool the entire room. This time allows families to create precious memories, enables mothers to recover from medication side effects, make arrangements without feeling rushed, and gives family members the chance to visit—all while keeping their loved ones close by.
