Celebrating 30 years of legal excellence

Cheers to 30 Years! Our Firm Celebrates Three Decades of Providing Legal Service Celebrating 30 years of legal excellence

In 1995, Amazon sold its first book, DVDs were introduced, and Anthony J. Madonia & Associates, Ltd. was founded. It has been a wild ride ever since. Five different offices, many different lawyers and paralegals, the introduction of Zoom court and e-signing mark just some of the changes that have occurred in the last 30 years. Our firm has met each change head on and continues to look to the future.

From our first clients to our current ones, AJM&A focuses on the personal side of the legal profession. To best represent our clients, we get to know you. This leads to the close bond we feel with many of our clients. We aim to provide the best service and then enjoy catching up at our events.

“A good team is the key to success,” said Tony Madonia, founder of Anthony J. Madonia & Associates, Ltd. “We wouldn’t still be here if our team over the years wasn’t strong, professional, creative and caring.” In assembling his team, Madonia has been blessed with personal connections as well as professional qualifications.

Tony’s Team

Tony met David Shoub 45 days after being admitted to the Illinois Bar Association. They shared office space at first and later joined forces for twenty-three years (it took Tony seven years to convince David it was a good idea). Madonia freely admits that David “taught me what little I know and any errors I make are only from poor training.” So, you can see they are like an old married couple!

One of our “at large” lawyers, Bruce Jackson, was Tony’s law school classmate. He was also one of the initial lawyers to join the firm and has stuck with us through the various addresses and team members. His Southern charm and encyclopedic legal knowledge has contributed to the firm’s success.

Personal connections have also shaped the firm’s culture. Family members including Tony’s wife, Jenny Madonia, have lent the firm a familial vibe. From holiday parties at their home to invitations to family gatherings, these personal touches offer warmth and hospitality that helps welcome clients to the office as well.

Katie Milne, Paralegal and Office Manager, has known the Madonia’s since grade school and is great friends with Tony’s daughter, Natalie. When she was looking for a career change, the Madonia’s brought her on and she has been here since 2015. The personal connection here is so strong that Tony was the officiant at Katie’s wedding.

Chris Bednarek, Receptionist and Legal Secretary, is often the first person clients speak to or see at our office. She bumped into the Madonia’s shopping at Mariano’s. Chris recognized Jenny Madonia as her children’s teacher when they were younger. They caught up and the Madonia’s were able to convince her to join the team.

Such personal bonds form the firm’s culture of respect and caring. That culture became the foundation for AJM&A’s success, well-being, and long-term professional excellence. With approximately 4,500 estate plans under our belt and a many more tax returns filed, Anthony J. Madonia & Associates has the expertise to keep going for decades to come.
